The Ugly Truth Film Premiere in LA Los Angeles

A huge line-up of celebrities attended the The Ugly Truth Film Premiere in LA Los Angeles last night Thursday, 16th July 2009.

The event took place at Pacific’s Cinema Dome in LA.

Celebrities on the red carpet included Gerard Butler; Catherine Heigl, Eric Winter, Mimi Michael, Noah Matthews, Yvette Nicole Brown, Bree Turner, Bonnie Sommerville, John Michael Higgins, Robert Luketic, Singer Jewel, Kate Walsh, Cheryl Hines, Serena Williams,Kate Walsh,Venus Williams and more!

As usual, Gerard Butler was happy to meet & greet the crowd and spend considerable time posing in front of the cameras for the press and fans last night.
Katherine Heigl spoke openly about the joys of working along side Gerard Butler, and the joys of improvisation for this rather revealing and exaggerated role.

Gerard Butler spoke positively about working with Katherine Heigl, describing her as an inspiration to work with. Gerard Butler said that he can relate to the film’s character quite well, as he to can sometimes be a bit outrageous, childish & cheeky but also lovable at the same time. He also said the script appealed to him because there was an opportunity for him to be a little bit outrageous in the movie. He jokingly remarked that the script also appealed to him because script gave him the opportunity to swear and say bad words. In short, Gerard Butler described The Ugly Truth as a romantic comedy about relationships between men and women, it’s about control, power games and the truth about what men think.

This is what Katherine Heigl had to say about why Gerard Butler was chosen to star in this movie with her:

“Gerard Butler is obviously an attractive, sexy man. He’s such a guy. I felt we really needed that. You don’t want to bring in the pretty boy who doesn’t sort of have that charisma and that sex appeal. And, you have to like him ultimately. And Gerry is. He made this guy, even as crass and as horrible as some of the things out of his mouth were, you like him. There’s something about him you just like and that was super important. And he just nailed it.”
