Gerard Butler appeared on SNL Saturday Night Live on a comedy sketch based on a fake Bet chat show called ‘What’s up with that?’ on the 17th October 2009.
The chat show tackles the issues of today with soul! The main theme of this specific show is the Environment.
The three “star guests” on the chat show included Bill Hader, Abby Elliot and James Franco.
Saturday Night Live SNL Season 35: Episode 4
Although the Environment is a serious issue, Kenan Thompson who plays D’Andre Cole, manages to convert our hearts and soul unconventionally by singing and dancing away with like a Southern Baptist preacher.
As the music tempo grinds down to a slow sexy groove, Kenan Thompson does the smooth act of lighting some wall candles (see picture above). This is a most unusual act on an environmental chat show!
He then passess the microphone onto his friend, “the Sexecutioner…White Peace” played by Gerard Butler.
D’Andre’s Southern Baptist accent is so strong, that the audience knows Gerard Butler as ‘White Pete’ instead.
Gerard Butler sings and dances away onto the stage in a pimp-style suit; big afro hair, sun glasses, magic stick and goatie beard. Gerard Butler seduces the environmentalist with his words and dances seductively like a pimp. This Saturday Night Live comedy sketch is a real treat for Gerard Butler fans. See above for a picture of Gerard Butler’s hilariously wild hair and beastly beard.
Jason Sudeikis who is Gerard Butler’s co star in The Bounty Hunter movie, also appears in this comedy sketch in a red track suit. Although Jason had a non speaking role, he stole the lime light with his amazing 80s electro-boogie style break dance performance. He had the audience in hysterics.
It was a shame that Will Forte and James Franco had silent roles equivalent to stage props in this sketch. It would have been nice if the script writer utilized their acting talents a bit more. Nevertheless it was still nice to have them present in the SNL comedy skit.
Lastly, we have included below, the full transcript of the skit so you can relive your favorite moments again and again.
