The 2010 Academy Awards viewed through the eyes of Gerard Butler

Gerard Butler arrived on the red carpet on Sunday March 7th amidst a host of flashing cameras and cheering fans. The 40 year old Scottish actor came wearing a black Made to Order pink lapel single button tuxedo with a black Satin bow tie by Gucci . Much to the surprise of many Gerard Butler fanatics, the hollywood megastar arrived dateless. When asked about who he’d take to the Oscars the previous Wednesday, however, Gerard Butler replied,

“I’m not taking a date — unless I have a serious girlfriend, which probably a lot of people know is very rare,” Butler told “Extra” at the Relief for Haiti: Artists for Peace and Justice Benefit Wednesday night. “There are enough rumors about what’s going on in my life without sparking another one.”

As the evening progressed, Gerard Butler made his way to the beautifully decorated Kodak theater where he joined other celebrities backstage in the luxurious VIP room.

While in the VIP room, Gerard Butler chatted with other Hollywood big names and posed for pictures next to the glimmering soon-to-be-presented academy awards trophies. Around the mid point of the show, an elegant female voice echoed through the amphitheater summoning Gerard Butler and Bradley Cooper onto the platform stage. Video clips flashed across the theater’s enormous high definition screens, and the audience sat spell bound as Gerard Butler introduced the the films nominated for the highly-sought-after visual effects award. The technical wizards behind Avatar , District 9 , and Star Trek awaited in eager anticipation as Gerard Butler announced their names amid the roar of intense, high-quality action scenes.

Finally the moment of truth arrived and Bradley Cooper opened his sealed white envelope and announced Avatar as the winner of the 2010 oscars Visual Effects award. The audience cheered as Avatar Masterminds Joe Letteri, Stephen Rosenbaum, Richard Baneham and Andrew R. Jones approached the stage to claim their golden trophies.

After assisting Bradley Cooper in handing out the awards, Gerard Butler disappeared from the scene. He had played his role, and now his work was finished. Thanks to the participation of Gerard Butler and many others, the 82nd annual Academy Awards Ceremony will always be remembered as a huge, glamorous success.

After seeing a dateless Gerard Butler at the Oscars many fans are wondering if the star will ever settle down.

“Yeah, definitely. I give myself another 25-30 years. Then I think it will be time to settle down. I’m very relaxed about the whole thing.”
